Step 01
Identify your brand or model name
Start by looking for a brand name or logo to identify which brand of sunglasses you have. Some frames will also have a model name, commonly printed on the inside temple of the frames. For example Ray-Ban is a brand name, Wayfarer is a model name.
Step 02
Identify your model number
Most manufacturers print the model number on the inside of the temple (arm) or the bridge. It often starts with letters (like 'RB' for Ray-Ban or 'OO' for Oakley) followed by a series of numbers.
Step 03
Locate the lens width
The string of numbers often includes the lens width, bridge width, and temple length. For example, '54□16 140' means 54mm lens width, 16mm bridge width, and 140mm temple length. The lens width (the first number) is key for lens replacement. Many brands such as Persol, Prada, and Ray Ban Sunglasses commonly use the same model number but make several different sizes.
